Hello fellow Haug Patients,
I had an appointment yesterday, November 27th; they replaced my top wire with a steel one and I am still wearing my rubber bands, which I'm wearing more. So over all was a good visit. I am in a lot of pain though, and having a hard time eating which is normal for me, just more pain than usual; hoping it subsides within the next day or so.

Also would just like to say if anyone has any suggestions to may my blog better or even questions please feel free to ask or let me know :)

Thanks as always
-ashley

  1. How are things now? Any updates? I had my braces placed last week, and boy did it hurt! I’m not used to this awkward feeling of pain, but I know that it is for the better. My dentist told me that my headaches and uncontrolled tear letting are due to some anomaly with my jaw and teeth. Never knew that could happen.

  2. Landon it is a very uncomfortable feeling unfortunately! I wish there was an easier way trust me! All I ate for about the first week was mac and cheese and mashed potatoes! And as for your jaw it really is weird all the things are bodies can make us do. If you have any more questions please let me know :) I'm happy to help!

    1. Thanks for the encouragement! How did the Holiday season go for you? Unfortunately, they had to tighten my braces so I was in a lot more pain. Had to suffer watching the family eat those holiday treats while I drink soup, and eat mashed potatoes. Happy new year to you, by the way!

  3. The holidays were great! I enjoyed mine with 8 Christmas'! I had my braces tightened at the beginning of the month so no soup for me; but that really does stink! And a Happy New Year to you as well :)

  4. They are slowly getting better, just taking longer than anticipated.

  5. Landon here has suffered a lot too, huh? I know how painful it is to have braces, and they are normal but you know, I just can’t accept that it’s natural. Haha I’m planning to have braces too but then, I’m still in doubt since I don’t think I can stand the pain. Do you have any advice Ashley? Thanks. :)

  6. Pain is definitely natural for the human body which really sounds like none sense! But it is true. As far as advice goes I would say pain wise to just lump through and know the outcome is going to be well worth it! Also the longer you have your braces on the more you get used to the pain. I am not going to lie to you and say it doesn't hurt because honestly it hurts an awful lot when you first get them on, but in the few appointments after the pain is not as bad. Tightenings are a little painful but other than that Dr. Haug and her team have never extremely hurt me just a little pinch. I hope this helps.
